I think Uptown needs to go.
Not every map in UT4 has bot support, the following do, sort of - Abbey Algiers Austria Dressing room Firing Range Mandolin * Riyadh Prague* Toxic* Uptown
I was wondering why you feel the necessity to use bots anyway,if the server is at his max of 32 players with the presence of those bots it excludes players who has to wait for someone to quit or a cycle.
I'd be content if we could just do these with the short time format and the scrolling rules: Abbey Algiers Austria Riyadh Sanctuary Subway
TLWS LA Nights is often empty or has one or two players whenever I stop by. I don't know which server you're talking about, but most TDM servers cannot survive without bots. People complain about them, but nobody joins an empty server.
But yes, if the server is close to full capacity 24/7, bots may be unnecessary.
(Also, just to clarify, I'm only an admin (and barely an admin at that), these are all iPWN's decisions and concerns.)
Yes, I like the current maps and time limits very much. Subway would be a bonus, but I get the impression iPWN is not a fan.
I will try "subway", and maybe "dust". If is stable, I will put them in the cycle. And, as an extra comment, I've joined a funny server with customizations from a clan called KRH. The server was called "Mission impossible". They have rebuild some maps to fully support bots.I wonder if we can use them. Someone knows this clan?
On another note, I know that it is possible to set up two map rotations, one with bots and one without, and have it automatically change rotations based on the number of players. I've seen this at a number of servers, (the former CGS comes to mind, and I think PPA did as well at the end) but haven't set it up myself...This gives you the best of both worlds. The stupid bots are gone and you have access to different maps, but if the numbers drop it brings them back and changes the rotation, so no crashes or empty server.
Rambetter did this as well. But my (limited) understanding is that it is not trivial to setup properly. I've never seen any documentation on how to do this.

But doing this can have 2 issues- More probability to crash- Bots joining automatically with weird names and weird equipment =) (This can be fixed with some work directly at the bot files, but I don't want to mess with this too much)
The demise of uptown at the hands of bots is the biggest tragedy in the declining popularity of UrT.

UPDATE 4 Jan 2013Version 4.2: Apparently most people dislike it, and still is in a patching phase... (buggy like hell? o_O) But if some people like it, maybe one day we will be running one of these Some comments?
4.2 is not ready to play. it offers very little improvement over 4.1 and lots of negatives.
