Smoke em if you got em, sharing is caring, and all that. Always good to compare notes :P

Here's mine, but I tweak it fairly frequently:

My autoexec.cfg has basically nothing in it except a call to my fov-zoom script. I just edit in game and then backup my q3config occasionally. I probably should do it this way really...

Or maybe I'm just oldschool with my scripting and such nonsense.

My autoexec contains only the binds that don't change based on alias.

Drop flag, drop weapon, drop medkit, drop armor and my wacky mouse binds.

Anything else: radio calls, funstuff, gear, race, armband is all accomplished through various config files based on alias.

I have been meaning to bind exec commands to these config files to make it so aliasing is simply hitting a key.

Or maybe I'm just oldschool with my scripting and such nonsense.

It is probably a cleaner way of doing things. I build my scripts as individual cfgs that I store in the folder and just call them as needed. Or I build the functions directly into the console which simply writes the q3config.cfg. Probably a better idea to put them in the autoexec, but I'm too lazy to sort through it all.

The video quality preset low/medium/high gives me partial URT chubby.

Never thought about controlling that, but would be nice to change low/med/high settings based on the map and FPS performance.

One question rex, I saw in video high cfg that the max fps is set to 99 and not 125?

My new machine chews up fps on urt and I've never been one to do the blurry textures thing.. it doesn't really help me identify targets any better, and the blurry textures annoy me.

What I did see was the script for changing volume while sneaking. That's something I'd never thought to do.

Some damned clever ideas in there. I gather rex may work with computers as more than a hobby looking at that dependency structure. lol. Good stuff.

For me its entirely hypothetical.  I'm on an old comp and get ~35 fps on the lowest settings.  Don't remember why I set it at 99 and not 125.

Negative, I'm just a script kiddy.  But thanks.

Yeah, my computer can handle the high settings, but i usually play with low.  This is because i mostly play custom maps and the map variation in video performance can be irriating.

Sneak volumne huh now?

Check out his "ninja" mode... he's toggling walk and upping his volume while he sneaks around, then toggling it back off. Clever idea. Might have to build something similar to this.

Of course I don't mind.  I posted in hopes that someone would find something useful in it.

I still use this some, but usually I just tromp around and gasp for air like an elephant in a marathon.

Whats an autoexec?

Exactly what came to mind when I first saw this post.

I'm assuming that it's a file which automatically executes any scripts which have been defined in it whenever you start urt. A way of keeping the config file clean by separating complex scripts from simple binds by making separate files and then linking them together in the autoexec config file. Of course, I have no idea what I'm talking about, so:

Oh very nice :D
I noticed a few original ideas and such, and I haven't even been through it all yet. I think I'll keep this around and look more in-depth next time I'm scripting for more ideas :P
