PS4 for me. I don't really like Xbox much tbh.

condidered xbox one being a spy-module, more expansive and way more complicated for multiplayer, lan-partys and sharing games, I guess I go with the generell attitude of the internet
here some samples:

considered I am a PC player, whose only console is a sweet old Gamecube, I'll go for a new PC, which is cheaper, better for strategy- and shooter-games, and lets you use the Internetz way more easy

I fixed your poll for you to have a legitimate choice.

Hehe

Never thought a thread like this one would appear here :P

Well, in another forum I got almost insulted... My opinion, as a neutral gamer (I have stuff from both brands), I feel like the PS4 will be the most obvious choice if you are concerned about your privacy, and you don't like the DRM stuff.

Also, some cool titles will be released for multiple systems, so getting one or another for some people will be the same.

But, this guy has good points IMHO: http://pastebin.com/uCmdh9jB

Btw, I am wondering if the new architecture of the next gen consoles (x86) can lead to some kind of mod to use them as normal computers. That sounds really interesting to me.

to be honest, reading this shows me that what I guessed about the xbox one to be true
he is trying to defend the "always online" feature, but never says why you actually have to be at least once per day connected to the internet, instead goes on about "selling your license to gamestop"; and also he says you can turn all this "always on" stuff off in the stettings, but still you shouldn't disconnect it from the power-supply, which makes me believe that it doesn't matter on what settings you work, microsoft can check your console anytime it is connected to the power-supply
and about the DRM stuff; he says it's for reducing the costs of the game in first place, because everyone gets a piece of the cake when you sell your used game; there comes the question in mind, why the games still gone cost the same as before this "wonderful invention, like steam"

Like most of you guys, I play on a PC only (No Trackball on a PS3 0.o lol) but we have a PS3 and Xbox and a Wii for the kids. We also use the PS3 as a media centre for the main TV in the house.

That's said, I'm with Reika, iPWN and Ubernoob. I have no time for the DRM bullshit, it just introduces endless p8ssing around, it penalises the honest people and as for the pirates, it just slows us .. err THEM down, nothing more. I also don't go with this always connected BS. It's bad enough that google want's to phase out android for Chrome O/S which will be always connected and cloud stored (Not that I can think of any of my private information that Google or the U.S. Government hasn't already probably stolen ......)

/end rant lol

It'll be a PS4 here mainly because of privacy issues rather than any other reason.

What I think, and obviously many others, is that "neither" is the correct choice. Even microsoft doesn't like the xbox.

Well now

So Microsoft announce today that "due to customer feedback" the Xbox One will not require a constant web connections and games may be freely shared and traded as with the Xbox 360.

Not quite so clear cut anymore now is it? lol

Yep, sounds great, 360 old style I guess. Some people says this was related to how Gamestop was stopping their offering of the XBONE :S and not because the people complained.

And... "haters gonna hate". I read some people complaining about this news, because that "stops the evolution", or something like that ¬_¬

No... the choice is the same. Lame console vs. gaming pc.

You don't have young children do you?  The gaming PC is always an option (if I can afford it) the "lame gaming consoles" are a NO CHOICE item if you ever want the kids to shut up lol

For $100 you can get a gameboy... send the kids off to play and leave the large tv for you.
