thanks iPWN I am fine. Hope you are too.

Well everything is going... ok

A lot of work sometimes, a little bit sick other times, but just good.

About this site, I have been thinking to run the latest 4.3 iteration of the game to see how good is it, what do you think? Do you have played it?

Hi again, it's been a while since I last browsed the forums...
I was wondering if you still have any UT server available, cause I have not been able to connect to 209.141.61.3:27960 (Algiers) from the 4.1, 4.2.023 or 4.3.2 versions.  Any updates on the current servers' status?
Thanks,

Hi Genesis

Long time no see you (and nobody, lol)

Currently, the only server available it's the germany one. It has the simple classic rotation for bots, and you can play there. Some people still plays around sometimes.

You can use /connect de.tlws.org on your console to join. Also, it has this ip 82.199.155.57

The Algiers one was pulled long time ago.

Oh man.

How annoying =(

It's sad to read these kind of incidents on a legacy game like this.

But bans are pretty much useless, because he gets a new id everytime he connects...

And a new IP, I guess? Because the same IP shouldn't work anymore for him

Well, I think the physics of the game is very similar to the one found in 4.1

It was different (and bad in my opinion) on the first 4.2 iterations if I remember correctly.

Also, you have some new weapons, and a new hud.

And of course, there are more servers and more players.

Hey SMILEY! How is going!???

Indeed, he is from there =S according to his IP location.

To be honest, I remember banning the whole country due to the excessive attempts to disrupt the server. Probably this is a new IP range...

He has the paid version of mombot apparently (headshots)

Hi, Boss! Hope everything's dandy on your side of the world :)

Everything is ok, thanks! I hope the same to you =)
Some annoying issues with the management here on Mexico City, but, overall, just fine.

Regarding the game... Are you playing 4.2?
I played a couple of rounds the past days, and it has changed a little bit.

Seriously??? That was a hit? =/

LOL, seems funny. I've never been at one of these gotcha games. Probably some day.

But first, I need to get some extra protection I think... =P

I host / manage 3 UrT 4.1 servers.
Setting sv_master1, and cl_master to "dpmaster.deathmask.net" seems to work :)
Hope this helps, and pass the word. Keep 4.1 alive !!

Thank you! I will try this setting on my setup. Probably this won't work for me because I am using a custom binary instead of the official one (the one which had ikalizer and other stuff integrated). But I will try.

6 years later :V

Which is great!

He was an active member here, and looking around on the forum logs, I noticed he just deleted his account without saying nothing since long time ago =(

He still plays with us or somewhere else?

Thanks Coyote.

Unfortunately these things happen. But I am trying to take some steps to minimize the impact of these issues.

It's nice to see you around people.

Yes, again, this happened, and I am sorry.

After the efforts of the provider of the server used for this website, they were completely unable to get access to the servers located at the old datacenter (ServerAxis at Miami). Apparently the company just dissappeared or something like that, without any explanations.

Now, they decided to move our services to another datacenter, at Phoenix, which seems to be working fine enough.

The bad news here, is that we lost a couple of posts (lol) and probably some attachments, because my last useful backup was from the weekend before this happened (files), and the past night for the forum database (posts).

But we are back, and fortunately not everything got lost because I found these backups.

Please tell me if you see any issues

I hope to see you around again.

That kind of nick is pretty common, and to be honest, I find it annoying to handle.

A lot of people use them and managing these names can be confusing, because you can apply a command to one innocent player instead of another =/

After reading this thread, and reading someone complaining about this ban, I came to watch the 0004 demo of s.u.p.o.t

And to be honest, I find him legit. Just some aiming at the corners preparing to shot just in case, but nothing really suspicious for me.

But after watching the OP demo, I find several situations where he seems to be walling. Also, probably some opportunities missed supposing he is using a wall hax.

Anyone else can review some of this demos?

General / Re: I was banned. Can somebody tell me what what the reason?

Well, yeah, after trying new maps, added a kingdom map modded to support bots, and then this happened:
http://forum.tlws.org/server-germany/german-tdm-server-keep-restarting-(server-caught)/

So, I rolled back to the old cyclemap.

Still the admins can try to use ut4_piketurn_rc1_bots if they want.

And well, after reading what's going on here, personally I think the time wasted here isn't worth it. I am trying new maps and so, but unfortunately most of the ones which supposedly work, just crash, just because they are in the server, even without playing on them.

If someone else has something to say here, or not, probably we should close this topic by tomorrow.

Thanks egidiussen, I am working on it.

This was due to some changes on the mapcycle of the server, and unfortunately isn't working fine.

Didn't know about the mask thing.

Also, I didn't know about the & prefix to show bigtext stuff. Pretty interesting.

About the tell command, it works with numbers and also with a prefix of your current nick.

Thanks for these tips Coyote.

Thanks again for this.

You put some nice new textures and some new structures, which can change the way this map is played.

As said at the other topic, this map can be annoying when there are a lot of players.
Maybe some admin can decide to switch to this map on a "per request" basis, or when there are a small number of players on the server.

I already included it on the server, so we can start to use it (hint hint admins!). But I am not sure if we can include it on the normal rotation.

Wow man. Interesting work at Dressing Room.

But I am not sure if we should include it on the rotation (with or without your mods). Mostly because it becomes annoying when there are a good number of players. Then they start to quit.
